Equipping First Responder Leaders with Tools for Success

Our mission with Equipped is to connect common interests among public safety services, highlighting best practices, innovations, and resources that leaders can bring back to their communities. After a soft launch in Fall 2021, we shifted into planning a robust ongoing content and events lineup, shaped by in-depth conversations with leaders in law enforcement, fire, EMS, and dispatch. 

During our 25 years in the events industry, we’ve had many welcome opportunities to work with first responders and the people who support them here in our home base of Washington, D.C., as well as throughout the United States. Our work with FirstNet and other Federal Emergency Medical Services Advisory Committees sparked a keen interest in the core issues around public safety, and it inspired us to launch Equipped.

We’ve designed Equipped to be a year-round resource for curated stories, video interviews, and events. We recently hosted our inaugural in-person event, a spring leadership summit on emerging technologies, at American University, and we’re busy behind the scenes planning our next in-person offering. We’re tackling the big issues, from recruitment and retention, to community relations, to Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, and more – and we’re doing it by building on the twin pillars of events and content to create and foster community and drive solutions.
